Celebrating the Digitalization of Vietnamese Natural Drugs Database between OPC and Aribio

On July 18th, 2024, the Digitalization of Vietnamese Natural Drugs Database ceremony between OPC Pharmaceutical joint – stock company & AriBio Co., Ltd. (South Korea) was celebrated at OPC PHARMA headquarters. This is phase 1 of the project “Applying AI Science and Technology to Research and Production of Medicinal Products from Medicinal Herbs”. marking an important advance in applying AI technology to unlock the potential of Vietnamese medicinal herb resources, elevating the quality and efficacy of medicinal products from herbs.

Recognizing the critical and enduring role of digitization in the pharmaceutical sector, OPC spearheaded this ambitious project valued at over 3 million USD. The project is structured in two phases: the first phase focused on digitizing the extensive database of Vietnamese medicinal plants, while the second phase will leverage AI technology to identify and develop novel therapeutic solutions for healthcare. By digitizing this wealth of medicinal knowledge, OPC aims to expedite the research and production of healthcare products while simultaneously enhancing the efficiency of their medicinal herb extraction processes. Furthermore, the integration of AI technology through this project is expected to facilitate the creation of innovative remedies that not only address pressing healthcare needs but also meet stringent international standards. The partnership between OPC and Aribio holds immense promise for groundbreaking advancements in safeguarding public health.

With a legacy spanning over 47 years in the research and production of herbal medicinal products, OPC is steadfast in its commitment to invest in and expand this project with Aribio into its second phase, which will delve deeper into the application of AI in medicinal product development.
