On February 22, 2024, the working delegation of the Ministry of Health led by Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen visited and inspected post-Tet work at OPC Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company.

Welcoming the working delegation, Ms. Pham Thi Xuan Huong – General Director of OPC Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company reported an overview of the company’s operations as well as the development orientation of OPC in the area of medicinal plant cultivation, extraction technology, and the positioning of medicinal products for the national brand. At the same time, there are proposals and suggestions to the Ministry of Health regarding support plans for Pharmaceutical companies, specifically:

  • Developing domestic medicinal plant cultivation areas
  • Registering new products
  • Output for pharmaceutical products from medicinal plants

At the OPC Pharma Factory, Deputy Minister Do Xuan Tuyen toured the production lines and auxiliary systems. According to the Deputy Minister, the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors still face numerous challenges and difficulties in terms of regulations, raw materials, production, supply, and consumption. Despite the global and domestic impacts on people’s healthcare, the Vietnamese healthcare sector has achieved significant results. Deputy Minister Do Xuan Tuyen acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of OPC Pharma and other pharmaceutical enterprises in meeting the targets for 2023. OPC Pharma has effectively implemented policies, ensured employment for workers, actively contributed to the overall activities of the Ministry of Health, and demonstrated responsibility towards society and the environment.

Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen proposes OPC Pharmaceutical:

  1. There is a document providing suggestions to the Ministry of Health regarding the improvement of the pharmaceutical sector’s regulations and policies. It is expected that in 2024, the National Assembly will pass the amended Drug Law, which will come into effect on January 1, 2025. Accordingly, the Ministry of Health highly values the input from the business community in constructing decrees and circulars to guide the implementation of the amended Drug Law (if approved by the National Assembly).
  2. There is a document providing suggestions to the Ministry of Health regarding the improvement of the pharmaceutical sector’s regulations and policies. It is expected that in 2024, the National Assembly will pass the amended Drug Law, which will come into effect on January 1, 2025.   3. Continue to support, participate with the Ministry of Health in organizing the dialogue conference between the Ministry of Health and Pharmaceutical Enterprises (3rd time) in 2024.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Rat, on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Health, the Deputy Minister wishes OPC Pharma to continue to have growth in developing new products, contributing to the healthcare of the people in the new situation.
